Fall is the busiest birthday season we have. The weather is the best of the year, the light is soft from noon on, and a backyard or a park pavilion that was too hot in July is perfect in October. It is also the season when a kids' table earns its keep: a party outdoors in a sweater means the children need somewhere to sit and eat that is not a damp lawn or a grown-up's folding chair. Mini Chairs Atelier rents kids' tables, children's chairs, high chairs and dessert carts for fall birthday parties across New Jersey, delivered and set up before your guests arrive and collected the next morning. You tell us the date, the ages and the headcount; we bring furniture that fits.

We're not the party planners — we rent the kids' tables, chairs and dessert carts. Your planner, or you, handles the pumpkins, the gingham, the balloons and the cake. We work alongside any planner, tent, catering or photography vendor you have booked.

What's in a fall birthday rental set

Fall first birthday party rentals

A fall first birthday is the party we set up most between Columbus Day and Thanksgiving. The guest list is usually a handful of toddler cousins and friends plus a crowd of adults, which is exactly the mix a kids' table solves. The set that works: one toddler-height table with low chairs for the little guests, a kids' high chair for the birthday baby, and a dessert cart for the smash cake. Pumpkins, a gingham runner and a wooden table make the photos without a single balloon, though a balloon garland behind the cart is the most common addition we see. The first birthday party rentals page has the full picture, and our toddler table and chair rentals page explains the sizes for ages one to three.

Woodland and fawn themes are everywhere this fall: deer, mushrooms, acorns and a soft brown-and-cream palette. They pair beautifully with natural rattan or wood chairs and a bare farm table; a Wild One safari table does the same job with greenery and a few plush animals, as in the party above.

A hot cocoa and cider station on the dessert cart

Drink stations are the fall party idea of the season, and the Convertible Cart set up as an open-shelf cart is made for one. A cider dispenser or a cocoa urn on the top shelf, cups and marshmallow jars on the middle, napkins and a basket of cider donuts below. Keep anything hot on the top shelf if the crowd is under three and let the grown-ups pour, and put the cart next to the kids' table so the cups land on a surface at the children's height instead of a lap. You or your planner bring the drinks, cups and toppings; we deliver the cart, set it up and collect it the next day. For styling levels and placement, read the dessert cart styling guide, and for a treat to set beside the station, try the apple cider donut tower or a mini caramel-apple bar.

Home, backyard, apartment or venue

Most fall birthdays we deliver to are at home: a backyard lawn with the table under the trees, a deck or a patio, or a living room cleared for the afternoon once the first cold weekend arrives. Apartments work too; a toddler table is the smallest footprint we rent, and we plan the load-in around stairs or an elevator when you tell us about them. We also deliver to parks and pavilions, barns and farms, community rooms, synagogue social halls and restaurant party rooms. Send the address with your quote request and we confirm the details.

Two fall-specific tips. Set the kids' table where the afternoon sun still reaches at three o'clock, because the temperature drops fast once a yard goes into shade in October. And have the indoor spot picked before the day: our rain plan guide covers how to move a kids' table inside without losing the party.

November birthdays: moving the party inside after the clocks change

The clocks go back on the first Sunday of November, and from then on a backyard party loses its light by mid-afternoon. Most November birthdays we set up are indoors: a living room with the sofa pushed back, a finished basement, a dining room with the grown-ups' table moved to the wall, or a party room at a venue. A kids' table is what makes an indoor party work, because it gives the children one place to sit, eat and craft instead of crowding the kitchen island.

Fall and Thanksgiving parties get 10% off with code THANKS10 through November 30, and December dates get 10% off with HOLIDAY10 from December 1 through January 5. Hold your date while you plan, or ask for a quote with your ages and headcount.

Which size is right for which age

Children's furniture only works if the child's feet reach the floor. Toddlers (1–3) need the lowest seats, preschoolers (3–5) the middle height, and school-age kids (5–8) the tallest kids' set. If your fall guest list spans ages, which it usually does when cousins come, we mix heights at one table or set two tables at two heights. The full chart is in our guide to kids' table and chair heights by age, and the how many chairs guide does the headcount math: count the children, not the families, and add two seats.

Fall parties we set up every week

How it works

  1. Tell us the date, the venue and the number of children, with their ages.
  2. We confirm availability and send your quote by text or email, usually the same day. You can hold your date while you decide.
  3. We deliver and set up before the party: tables positioned and leveled, chairs placed, cart rolled in, ready for your planner or your own decor.
  4. We pick everything up after the party. Nothing for you to fold, wipe or stack.

Where we deliver in New Jersey and New York

Home base is Ocean Township in Monmouth County, and we deliver fall birthday party rentals statewide: Monmouth County, Ocean County, Bergen County, Essex and Morris, Hudson County, Middlesex and Union, Princeton and Mercer County and Cherry Hill and South Jersey, plus New York City, Long Island, Westchester and Rockland County. See all service areas.

How far ahead to book

Three to four weeks is comfortable for most dates. Weekend afternoons in November book first, especially around the NJEA break and Thanksgiving weekend, and the rattan chairs go earliest. If your date is close, ask anyway — we often have weekday and short-notice openings.

Frequently asked questions

Do you deliver fall birthday party rentals anywhere in New Jersey and New York?

Yes. Home base is Ocean Township in Monmouth County, and we deliver kids' tables, chairs, high chairs and dessert carts across New Jersey, plus New York City, Long Island, Westchester and Rockland. We set everything up before the party and pick it up afterward; send your address with the quote request and we confirm the delivery details for your town.

What's in a fall birthday party rental set?

Kid-height tables and children's chairs sized to the ages of your guests, a kids' high chair for the birthday baby when it's a first birthday, and a dessert cart if you want one for the cake or for a hot cocoa and cider station. Tell us the ages and the headcount and we size the set for you.

Which chairs and tables do you rent for a fall party?

Chairs: the rattan Bow, Round, Loop and Rainbow chairs, the wooden Cross Back Chair, the white Classic Chair, the pink Bow Metal Chair, the lavender Mini Bistro Chair and clear Ghost Chairs. Tables: the Farm Mini Table, the Mini Scalloped Oval Table, the Serpentine Table, the Modern White Kids Table and the hand-painted Daisy Table. Most pieces come in other colors on request, so a rust, sage or cream fall palette is easy to match.

Can I rent a kids' table for a fall first birthday in October or November?

Yes. Fall first birthdays are one of the parties we set up most. The set is usually a toddler-height table with low chairs for the little cousins, a high chair for the one-year-old at the head of the table, and a dessert cart for the smash cake photos.

Can you set up a kids' table indoors for a November birthday?

Yes. Once the clocks go back on the first Sunday of November it is dark before five, so most November parties move inside. We set up in living rooms, finished basements, dining rooms, apartments and party rooms; tell us the room size and any stairs or elevator and we plan the layout and the load-in.

Can the dessert cart be a hot cocoa or cider station?

Yes. Set up as an open-shelf cart, the Convertible Cart holds cups, a dispenser and topping jars, so it works as a cocoa or cider station at a fall party. You or your planner bring the drinks and cups; we deliver the cart, set it up and collect it afterward.

Is there a fall promo code?

Yes. Use code THANKS10 for 10% off fall and Thanksgiving parties through November 30, and HOLIDAY10 for 10% off from December 1 through January 5. Mention the code when you ask for your quote.

How far ahead should I book a fall party date?

Three to four weeks is comfortable for most fall dates. Weekend afternoons in November book first, especially around the NJEA break and Thanksgiving weekend, and the rattan chairs go earliest. If your date is close, ask anyway: we often have weekday and short-notice openings, and you can hold your date while you finalize the details.
