Ocean County Kids' Party Furniture Rentals
Venues are the easy part. This is the furniture side of an Ocean County children's party — what to rent, how much of it, and the shore-specific details that decide whether the kids' table looks styled or windblown.

Ocean County parties happen outside. Even the January ones eventually spill onto a deck. Between the bay-side backyards of Brick, the shore rentals in Point Pleasant, the big lawns in Jackson and the year-round family gatherings in Toms River and Lakewood, almost every children's celebration we deliver here has at least one open door in it — and open doors change what furniture you should rent and how you should set it up.
Our Ocean County venue guide covers where to hold the party. This one covers what to put in it.
Start with the child count, not the room
The most common mistake we see is renting to fill a space. A long table down the middle of a deck looks impressive and leaves nowhere for the adults to walk. Work the other direction:
- Count the children you expect, ages two to eight, then add two. Invitations at the shore pull in a neighbor's kids; they always do.
- One kid-height table seats six to eight children. Twelve to sixteen children is two tables, and end-to-end beats side-by-side in almost every backyard.
- Leave a clear three-foot walkway between the children's table and any food or drink station. Adults carrying plates and toddlers moving fast need separate lanes.
- Add a dessert cart instead of a third table if the party is dessert-heavy. It takes a quarter of the footprint and does more work in photographs.
The full formula, including the awkward in-between counts, is in our chair and table quantity guide.
Matching the chairs to the party
Ocean County parties run in two directions, and the seating should follow. For beach-house birthdays, christenings, communions and the neutral, grown-up end of the spectrum, the rattan kids' chair collection is the obvious choice — natural woven chairs look at home on a weathered deck and beside linen and greenery. For a themed birthday with a color story, the Essential and Classic collections carry color cleanly; clear and white seating in particular photographs beautifully against a strong backdrop, which is why a themed table like the one above reads as designed rather than busy.
Browse the theme pages for palettes that have worked, and read our guide to choosing chairs for your theme before you commit to a color. Themed paper and a neutral chair almost always beat a themed chair.
Four things the shore does to a kids' table
- Wind. Anything lighter than a plate leaves. Weight the runner under the tabletop, use place cards that tuck into a napkin rather than stand up, and skip loose confetti entirely — our balloon-free décor ideas hold up far better in a bay breeze.
- Deck boards and sand. Uneven surfaces wobble a small table. We level tables on arrival, but tell us in advance if the setup is on soft sand or open decking so we bring the right pieces.
- Sun. A table in full afternoon sun empties within ten minutes. Put the children's table in shade if you have it, or plan the meal for the shaded half of the afternoon.
- Weather that turns. Check the local forecast in the week before, and know which pieces move indoors first. Kid-height tables move in two trips; see the rain-plan guide.
Toms River, Brick, Point Pleasant and Jackson
A few local notes from regular deliveries. Toms River parties are the most likely to be indoor-outdoor, with a sliding door doing all the work — keep the children's table on the inside of that door so the food stays in one climate. Brick and Point Pleasant backyards are often narrow and deep, which suits two tables end-to-end along one fence line better than a square arrangement. Jackson has the space for a genuinely long children's run and the driveways to unload it quickly. In Lakewood, where we deliver constantly for holidays and simchas as well as birthdays, the question is usually how many children a room can hold across a whole week rather than one afternoon — our Lakewood & Toms River guide and our Sukkot kids' table guide cover that pattern.
Booking, delivery and setup
Every rental includes delivery, full setup and next-day pickup. We arrive before guests, level and style the table, and come back the following day — no stacking, no wiping, no loading a folded table into a car at the end of a long afternoon. Access matters more at the shore than anywhere else: a long dune walk, a narrow side gate or a third-floor rental changes the timing, so tell us when you book. Our delivery access checklist is the short version of what we need to know.
Send your date, address and approximate child count through Get a Quote and we will confirm the same day. Three to four weeks is comfortable for most Ocean County dates; summer Saturdays and the September and October weekends book first. If you are planning further up the coast, our Brick, Point Pleasant & Jackson guide and our beach club guide are the neighboring pages.
Frequently asked questions
How many kids' tables and chairs do I need for an Ocean County party?
Count the children you expect between two and eight years old and add two seats. One kid-height table seats six to eight, so twelve to sixteen children means two tables and fourteen to eighteen chairs. We can adjust the count up to a few days before the party.
Can you set up on a deck, a lawn or soft sand?
Yes. We level the tables on arrival on grass, pavers and decking. Soft sand and open dune walks change the timing and sometimes the pieces we bring, so tell us the surface and the access when you book.
Which collection is best for a beach-house party?
Atelier Rattan. Natural woven chairs and a wood or white table look right on a deck and beside linen and greenery, and they photograph well in bright shore light. For themed birthdays, the Essential and Classic collections carry color more cleanly.
Do you deliver to Toms River, Brick, Point Pleasant and Jackson?
Yes — all of Ocean County is inside our regular delivery area, along with Lakewood and the rest of New Jersey and New York. Delivery, setup and next-day pickup are included on every order and we are open 365 days a year.
What happens if it rains on the day?
We help you plan the indoor version of the same layout before the party. Kid-height tables and chairs move inside quickly, so most shore parties have a workable fallback in the same house — check the forecast during the week and tell us if the plan changes.
