Kids' Table & Chair Rentals in Princeton & Mercer County, NJ
Princeton and the towns around it host the most carefully planned children's parties in central New Jersey — garden first birthdays, club milestones and big Hamilton backyard birthdays. Here's how to give the children a table of their own, and how the delivery works.

Princeton parties are planned the way Princeton does most things: early, thoughtfully and with a good eye. The garden is chosen for the light, the cake comes from the bakery on Nassau Street, the invitations went out six weeks ago. And then, about ten days before, someone realises the children will be sitting on adult folding chairs with their chins at table height. That's the gap we fill. Mini Chairs Atelier rents kid-height tables, children's chairs, high chairs and dessert carts, and we deliver, set up and collect them across Princeton and all of Mercer County.
This guide is what we've learned delivering here: the three kinds of Mercer parties, what to rent for each, how many chairs to book, and the local details that make delivery easy. If you already know your date, you can hold your date now and read the rest later.

Three Mercer County parties we set up every month
The garden first birthday in Princeton, Hopewell or Pennington
Old trees, a deep lawn, a stone patio: Princeton-area gardens are the prettiest backdrops in central Jersey and the most likely to be on uneven ground. We level the tables on grass or gravel when we arrive and set up early enough for the florist to style before guests do. Families here ask for the rattan kids' chair collection by name — natural woven chairs look intentional beside linen and greenery in a way bright plastic never will. For the birthday baby, a high chair at the head of the kids' table photographs beautifully; our guide to where the birthday baby sits has the layouts, and first birthday party rentals has the pieces.
The club or venue milestone in West Windsor, Lawrenceville or Princeton
Christenings, communions, a grandparent's 70th with a cousins' table, a bat mitzvah luncheon — the clubs and restaurants around Princeton host them wonderfully and almost never own genuinely child-sized furniture. We're a chairs-only specialist: we bring the children's table and chairs into your venue's load-in window, set them up where the coordinator wants them and work alongside the caterer who is handling the adults. Put us in touch with the venue directly and we'll handle the timing and any certificate of insurance. More on seating the littlest guests at milestone events.
The big backyard birthday in Hamilton, Robbinsville or Ewing
Hamilton and Robbinsville are big-backyard country: a tent, forty people, a bounce house in the corner and a dozen children who need somewhere to eat cake that isn't the grass. One long kid-height table along the tent edge, chairs both sides, dessert cart at the end nearest the house — and leave a clear path from the kids' table to the cake. Our backyard birthday guide covers the layout and our rain plan covers the September afternoon that turns.
What you can rent
- Kid-height tables — long tables for a row of guests and smaller tables for a toddler group or a dining room. Tables can be customized on request to match a theme or a color.
- Children's chairs in three collections — Essential, Classic and Atelier Rattan — so the furniture matches the palette instead of fighting it.
- High chairs for the birthday baby and dessert carts for the cake.
Sizes, heights and the full picture of each collection are on our kids' table and chair rentals page.
How many to book
Count the children who will sit, not the families invited, and add two. A Princeton garden birthday of 12 to 16 children takes two kid-height tables and 14 to 18 chairs; a Hamilton tent party often runs to 20. If the guest list spans toddlers and eight-year-olds, we mix heights at one table so every child's feet reach the floor — the chart is in kids' table and chair heights by age, and the formula in how many chairs and tables you need.
How the rental works
- Send the date, the town and the number of children through Get a Quote. We confirm availability the same day and send the quote by text or email.
- Hold your date while the guest list settles — hold it online and the deposit comes off the rental.
- We deliver and set up before the party: tables leveled, chairs placed, cart in position, ready for your planner's styling.
- We collect the next day. Nothing to fold, wipe or stack.
We rent the kids' tables, chairs, high chairs and dessert carts. The balloons, florals and backdrop are your planner's work, or yours. We set up alongside any planner, tent or catering vendor you've already booked in Mercer County.
Delivery notes for Princeton and Mercer County
- Princeton's streets. Many in-town houses have narrow drives and no curb space on a Saturday. Tell us where the van can stop for twenty minutes and the setup takes about half an hour.
- Gates and gravel. We level on gravel and lawn; note the gate width if the backyard is fenced.
- Venue windows. Clubs and restaurants run events back-to-back — give us your load-in slot when you book.
- Neighbors. Families in Somerset County and Hunterdon County are on the same routes.
Election Day, the NJEA break and indoor winter birthdays in Mercer County
Most NJ districts close on Election Day, Tuesday November 3, and again Thursday and Friday November 5–6 for the NJEA convention, which turns November 5–8 into a four-day party weekend — check your district's calendar. We deliver 365 days a year, so a Tuesday or Thursday party in West Windsor, Princeton or Hamilton works the same as a Saturday. More on long-weekend birthday parties and the days-off section of our kids' table and chair rentals page.
After Halloween, Mercer birthdays move indoors: a dining room, a finished basement, a club's private room. One kid-height table against the longest wall keeps the children together and the floor clear; our indoor winter birthday guide has the layouts. For Thanksgiving on November 26 and December family dinners, see the Thanksgiving kids' table rental and holiday kids' party rentals.
When to book
May and June Sundays and the fall weekends book first, and the rattan collection sells out earliest. Three to four weeks is comfortable for most Mercer dates; for a Sunday in May, June, September or October, and for December weekends, book six to eight weeks out. Every rental includes delivery, full setup and next-day pickup, and we're open 365 days a year.

Delivery, setup and next-day pickup are included.
Can you set up on a lawn or gravel garden in Princeton?
Yes. Most of our Princeton-area deliveries are garden setups. We level the tables on grass, gravel or pavers when we arrive and set up early enough for your florist or planner to style before guests arrive.
Do you bring children's chairs into clubs and restaurants?
Yes. We are a chairs-only specialist and regularly supply the children's table and chairs alongside a venue or caterer that is providing adult seating. We coordinate the load-in window and any certificate of insurance directly with the venue.
How far ahead should I book in Mercer County?
Three to four weeks is comfortable for most dates. Sundays in May, June, September and October and the December weekends book first, so reserve those six to eight weeks out. The Atelier Rattan collection sells out earliest.
Can I hold a date before my guest count is final?
Yes. Hold your date online and it is set aside while you finish the guest list. The hold is credited toward your rental total, and we adjust the chair count up to a few days before the party.
Can you deliver on Election Day or during the NJEA break?
Yes. We deliver 365 days a year, so a party on Tuesday November 3 or over the November 5–8 NJEA weekend works like any other date. Most NJ districts are closed those days, so check your district's calendar and book early.
Do you set up for indoor winter birthdays in Princeton and Mercer County?
Yes. We deliver and set up kid-height tables, children's chairs, high chairs and dessert carts in homes, finished basements, clubs and venues all winter, then pick everything up the next day. We're not the party planners — the decor is yours or your planner's.
