What a first birthday usually needs

What's in a first birthday rental set
Every first birthday is built from the same four pieces, sized to your guest list:
- A high chair for the birthday baby, set where the cake smash will be photographed.
- Kids' tables at toddler or older-kid height, or mixed heights at one long table.
- Kids' chairs in Essential, Classic or Atelier Rattan to match your palette.
- A dessert cart for the smash cake and cupcakes, if you want one.

Home, backyard or venue: we bring the first birthday to you
Most first birthdays happen at home, in the backyard or in a party room, and that is exactly where we deliver. We bring the kids' tables, chairs, high chair and dessert cart to your home, apartment, backyard, beach club or venue, set everything up before the party and pick it up the next day. Fall first birthdays are some of our busiest weekends, so the rattan pieces go first in October and November. We're not the party planners: you or your planner handle the balloons, backdrop and cake; we bring the furniture.
How many seats for a first birthday?
Count the children old enough to sit at a table — usually walking toddlers through about age eight — and add two. Babies under one stay with their parents. Most first birthdays we set up need one kids' table with 8 to 12 chairs plus the high chair. Our first birthday seating and layout guide shows where everything goes. - We deliver and set up before the party, and pick up the next day.
First birthdays cluster on weekend afternoons, and the rattan pieces go first. Three to four weeks ahead is comfortable; six weeks for peak spring and fall Saturdays.

What size tables and chairs do 1-year-olds need?
Children aged 1 to 3 need the lowest size: a table about 15 inches tall with seats about 7 inches off the floor. Older cousins can sit at a taller table alongside them. Our kids' table and chair height chart shows which size fits which age.
Do you rent a dessert cart for the first birthday cake?
Yes. Along with the high chair and kids' tables and chairs we rent dessert carts, delivered and set up with the rest of your order. We're not the party planners: the cake, desserts and decor come from you or your planner.
Do you rent high chairs for a first birthday?
Yes. We place a high chair for the birthday baby at the kids' table or beside the dessert cart, set up with the rest of your rental.

Can I hold my date before the quote is final?
Yes. Hold My Date sets your party date aside while we finalize your quote, and the hold is credited toward your rental.
Do you decorate the party?
No, we're not the party planners. We rent the kids' tables, chairs, high chairs and dessert carts; your planner or you handle the decor.
Can you deliver for a first birthday over the NJEA break or Thanksgiving weekend?
Yes. We deliver 365 days a year, including the Election Day and NJEA days off in early November and Thanksgiving weekend. Holiday weekends fill first, so Hold My Date can set your party date aside while you finish the guest list.
