Kids' Table & Chair Rentals in Westfield, Cranford & Summit, NJ
Westfield, Cranford, Summit and the Union County towns around them throw a lot of parties at home — a backyard behind a side gate, a finished basement, a dining room cleared for the cousins. Here is how families there give the youngest guests a table and chairs their own size, from the Halloween party weekend to the November days off school and Thanksgiving.
Union County is part of what we call home territory. It sits on the same New Jersey routes as our Middlesex and Monmouth deliveries, which means we are in and around Westfield, Cranford and Summit most weeks of the year — and, more often than not, there is room for one more stop. If you are planning a birthday, a first birthday or a holiday meal at home, the children are the part of the guest list that needs a plan, because a four-year-old on a grown-up dining chair is a four-year-old with a plate on her lap.
That is the one thing we do. We rent kid-height tables, children's chairs, high chairs and dessert carts, and we deliver them, set them up before your guests arrive and pick them up the next day. If you already know the date, you can hold your date now and send the guest count later. We're not the party planners — we rent the kids' tables, chairs and dessert carts. Decor, balloons and food come from your family or your planner.
Where we deliver in Union County
Westfield, Cranford, Summit, Springfield, Scotch Plains, Mountainside, Berkeley Heights, New Providence, Union, Elizabeth, Linden and Clark, plus the neighboring towns along the same roads. Union is one of the three counties on our Ocean, Middlesex & Union County page; this guide is the closer look at the Westfield, Cranford and Summit side of it. Just over the county line in Millburn, Short Hills or Maplewood? See the Montclair & Maplewood guide. Heading south toward Edison or Metuchen? The Edison & Highland Park guide covers Middlesex County.
Most of what we set in these towns is at home: a backyard behind a side gate, a covered patio, a finished basement, a dining room with the big table pushed to the wall, or an apartment living room where every foot of floor counts. We also set up in party rooms and restaurant rooms when that is where the celebration is. Wherever it is, the furniture is in place before the first guest arrives.
What you can rent
- Kid-height tables — the Modern White Kids Table (a white top on slim hairpin legs, like the one above), the Mini Scalloped Oval Table, the Serpentine Table, the Farm Mini Table and the Daisy Table. Tables can be customized on request to match a color or a theme.
- Children's chairs — clear Ghost Chairs, the white Classic Chair, the natural-wood Cross Back Chair, the pink Bow Metal Chair, the Mini Bistro Chair and the Atelier Rattan collection: the Bow, Rainbow, Loop and Round chairs. Clear and wood chairs suit a fall or Halloween table; rattan is a favorite for first birthdays.
- High chairs for the birthday baby — the first birthday party rentals page walks through the high chair, the low table and the photo corner.
- Dessert carts — a kids' dessert cart for the cake, the cupcakes or the Halloween cookies you or your planner bring.
Every rental includes delivery, setup and pickup. For ages one to three, the toddler table and chairs page has the sizes, and the main kids' table and chair rentals page has every collection in one place.
Election Day and the NJEA break: party days off school (Nov 3, Nov 5–8)
November hands Union County families two gifts. Most New Jersey districts close on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, and again on Thursday and Friday, November 5 and 6, for the NJEA convention — which turns November 5 through 8 into a four-day weekend. Calendars vary by district, so check yours before you send invitations, but when your children are off, their friends usually are too.
A Tuesday off school is a natural time for a small daytime party: six or eight children, one long kids' table, lunch and a craft, and everyone home by mid-afternoon. The NJEA weekend suits a bigger birthday, because nothing else is competing for the date. We deliver 365 days a year, so a Tuesday, Thursday or Friday delivery in Westfield or Cranford is usually simple to add, and a weekday setup morning is a quiet one. More ideas for using the break are in our long-weekend birthday party guide and in the party days off school section of our main rentals page.
Halloween party weekend in Union County: October 24–25
Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, so many families are hosting on October 24 and 25 and keeping the 31st for trick-or-treating. That weekend fills first. A kids' table makes a costume party easier in a practical way: little guests in capes and wings sit down to eat instead of wandering with a plate. Clear Ghost Chairs and natural-wood Cross Back Chairs look right at a fall table without being scary for the toddlers, and a pumpkin-decorating activity works well at kid height — we bring the tables and chairs, and you or your planner bring the pumpkins and paint. Our no-carve pumpkin decorating party plan has the setup, and the Halloween party rentals page has the not-scary options. Booking for Halloween or Thanksgiving? Use code THANKS10 for 10% off through November 30.
Thanksgiving kids' tables in Westfield and Summit
Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26. In a house full of cousins, the kids' table is what lets the grown-up table stay a grown-up table. In a long dining room, a low table set at the end of the room keeps the children in sight; in a smaller space, a narrow table against the longest wall leaves room to walk. Add a high chair for the youngest guest and two spare chairs for the cousins nobody counted. One delivery can cover the long weekend if you are hosting Friendsgiving too. Our big-family Thanksgiving seating plan works out how many tables you need by age, and the Thanksgiving kids' table rental page and the holiday party rentals hub cover the rest of the season.
How delivery works in Westfield, Cranford and Summit
- Before your guests arrive. We arrive ahead of the party, carry everything in, level the tables and set the chairs, then leave you to the rest of the morning.
- Tell us about the way in. Stairs, an elevator, where we can park and how wide the side gate is. A few older properties in Westfield and Cranford have gates under 32 inches, and it helps to know before the truck arrives.
- Picked up the next day. The furniture stays while the party winds down, and we collect it afterward, so the house is yours again.
- Already on the route. If we're already running a route through your county that weekend, adding a stop is usually straightforward — another reason to send your date early.
Our delivery and setup checklist lists everything worth measuring before the day.
How many chairs and tables to book
Count the children who will sit — usually ages one to ten — and add two extra seats. Up to about ten children fit at one long kids' table; ten to twenty work well in a row or a U-shape; above twenty, split the tables by age so the toddlers are not seated next to the ten-year-olds. The full method, with layouts for small rooms, is in our how many kids' chairs and tables guide.
How booking works
- Tell us the date, the town and the number of children. A quick quote request is enough to start.
- Choose the tables and chairs. A table sized to your room, the chairs that suit your colors, a high chair or a dessert cart if you want one.
- We deliver and set up before your guests arrive — backyard, basement, dining room or party room.
- We pick everything up the next day.
Fall weekends book first, and the November days off school are already on many families' calendars. If your party is on one of those dates, a date hold is the easiest way to keep it while you finish the guest list — the hold is credited toward the rental.
Frequently asked questions
Do you deliver kids' tables and chairs to Westfield, Cranford and Summit?
Yes. We deliver, set up and pick up kid-height tables, children's chairs, high chairs and dessert carts in Westfield, Cranford, Summit, Springfield, Scotch Plains, Mountainside, Berkeley Heights, New Providence, Union, Elizabeth, Linden, Clark and the rest of Union County. Delivery, setup and pickup are part of every rental.
Can you deliver on Election Day or during the NJEA break?
Usually, yes. We deliver 365 days a year. Most New Jersey districts close on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, and for the NJEA convention on Thursday and Friday, November 5 and 6, so check your district calendar and send your date early, because that four-day weekend is a popular time for birthdays.
Is it too late to book for the Halloween party weekend, October 24 and 25?
Often not. Union County is on our regular New Jersey routes, and if we're already running a route through your county that weekend, adding a stop is usually straightforward. Send your date and the number of children, or hold your date while you finish the guest list.
What do you need to know before delivering to an older house?
Tell us about stairs, an elevator, where we can park and how wide the side gate is, since a few older properties in Westfield and Cranford have gates under 32 inches. We set everything up before your guests arrive and pick it up the next day.
Do you decorate or style the party?
No. We're not the party planners. We rent the kids' tables, chairs, high chairs and dessert carts, and we deliver, set up and pick them up. Decor, balloons and food come from your family or your planner.
