Kids' Table & Chair Rentals in Montclair, Maplewood & West Essex

Mini Chairs Atelier · Updated October 2026

Montclair and Maplewood throw parties in every kind of space — a deep backyard off Upper Mountain, a front porch on a Maplewood side street, a third-floor walk-up near the train. Here is how Essex County families give the little guests a table and chairs their own size, from the Halloween party weekend to the NJEA long weekend.

A party in Montclair or Maplewood usually has more children on the guest list than chairs in the house. Siblings come, cousins come, the neighbors' kids come, and suddenly there are fifteen small guests and a dining table that is a foot too tall for all of them. A three-year-old on a grown-up chair is a three-year-old who is about to climb down.

That is the one thing we do. We rent kid-height tables, children's chairs, high chairs and dessert carts, and we deliver them, set them up before your guests arrive and pick them up the next day. We run a regular North Jersey route, so if we're already running a Saturday route through the county, adding a stop is usually easy. If you already know the date, you can hold your date now and send the guest count later. We're not the party planners — we rent the kids' tables, chairs and dessert carts. Decor, balloons and food come from your family or your planner.

Where we deliver in Essex County

Montclair, Upper Montclair, Glen Ridge, Maplewood, South Orange, West Orange, Verona, Cedar Grove, the Caldwells, Essex Fells, Roseland, Livingston, Millburn, Short Hills, Nutley and Bloomfield — plus the towns along the same routes. This guide is the close-up on the Montclair and Maplewood side; for the whole county and its Morris neighbors, see our Essex & Morris County kids' party rentals page.

Most of what we set in these towns is at home: a backyard or a deck, a covered porch, a finished basement, a living room with the sofa pushed back, or an apartment where every foot of floor counts. We also set up in party rooms, community rooms and restaurant rooms when that is where the celebration is.

Halloween party weekend in Montclair and Maplewood: October 24–25

Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, so many Essex County families are hosting the weekend before — October 24 and 25 — and keeping the 31st for trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. That makes the 24th and 25th the busiest party dates of the month. A kids' table helps a costume party in a very practical way: little guests in capes, wings and pointy hats sit down to eat instead of balancing plates on their laps.

For colors, natural rattan and wood chairs suit a pumpkin-patch table, and clear chairs look right with a black-and-orange theme. Our Halloween party rentals page has the not-scary options for toddlers and the fall palettes that older kids like.

An October craft table: pumpkin painting and bead bracelets at a kid-height table

“October crafts for kids” is one of the most-searched party ideas this month, and the reason is simple: a seated craft keeps a room of children busy for half an hour. The trick is the seating. At an adult table a five-year-old kneels on the chair to reach the paint; at a table their size, they sit, reach and stay put.

Your planner or your family sets up the craft. We bring the table and chairs it happens at.

Street parking, stairs and walk-ups: how delivery works in Montclair

Montclair and Maplewood have older streets, narrow driveways and plenty of homes where the party is up a flight of stairs. None of that is a problem if we know about it ahead of time. When you send your quote request, tell us:

  1. The floor and the number of stairs, and whether there is an elevator.
  2. Where we can stop the van. A driveway, a spot out front, or a side street — a 20-minute unload spot is plenty.
  3. The room. Backyard, porch, basement or living room, and roughly how much floor you have for the kids' table.

With that, setup is quick and quiet, and everything is in place before the first guest rings the bell. Our delivery & setup checklist has the full list.

NJEA weekend parties (November 5–8)

The NJEA convention closes most New Jersey public schools on Thursday, November 5 and Friday, November 6, 2026 — a four-day stretch through Sunday, November 8. Because we are open 365 days a year, a Thursday or Friday delivery in Montclair, Maplewood or Livingston is usually simple to add, and a weekday party means the children are home and nothing else competes for the date. Calendars vary by district, so check your school's before you send invitations.

What you can rent

Not sure how many seats to book? Count the children who will sit — usually ages one to ten — and add two for the cousins who arrive unannounced. The full method is in our how many kids' chairs and tables guide, and every collection is on the kids' table and chair rentals page.

How booking works

  1. Tell us the date, the town and the number of children in a quick quote request.
  2. Choose the tables and chairs — and a high chair or dessert cart if you want one.
  3. We deliver and set up before your guests arrive.
  4. We pick everything up the next day, so the house is yours again.

October weekends and the NJEA break book first. If your party is on one of those dates, a date hold is the easiest way to keep it while you finish the guest list — the hold is credited toward the rental.

Frequently asked questions

Do you deliver kids' tables and chairs to Montclair and Maplewood?

Yes. We deliver, set up and pick up kid-height tables, children's chairs, high chairs and dessert carts in Montclair, Maplewood, Glen Ridge, South Orange, West Orange, Verona, Livingston, the Caldwells and the rest of Essex County. Delivery, setup and pickup are part of every rental.

Can you deliver to a walk-up or a house with street parking only?

Usually, yes. Tell us the floor, the number of stairs, whether there is an elevator and where we can stop the van. Montclair and Maplewood have a lot of narrow driveways, so knowing about a 20-minute unload spot ahead of time keeps setup quick.

Is there still time to book for the Halloween party weekend, October 24 and 25?

Often, yes, but that weekend fills early because Halloween falls on a Saturday this year. Send your date, your town and the number of children, or hold your date while you finish the guest list.

Can the kids' table be used for a craft activity?

Yes. A kid-height table is the easiest place for a seated craft: mini-pumpkin painting, a bead bracelet station or coloring placemats. Children sit, reach the table properly and stay put. Your planner or family sets up the craft; we bring the table and chairs.

Do you do the decorations or party styling?

No. We're not the party planners. We rent the kids' tables, chairs, high chairs and dessert carts, and we deliver, set up and pick them up. Decor, balloons and food come from your family or your planner.
