Kids' Table & Chair Rentals in Ridgewood, Paramus & Wyckoff, NJ

Ridgewood, Paramus, Wyckoff and the northwest Bergen towns around them are about to move their parties indoors — a living room with the sofa pushed back, a finished basement, a dining room cleared for the cousins. Here is how families there give the youngest guests a table and chairs their own size, from the November days off school to Thanksgiving and the winter birthdays after it.

Northwest Bergen is one of the busiest corners of our New Jersey map. Ridgewood, Paramus and Wyckoff sit a short drive apart, and the same delivery route reaches Glen Rock, Ho-Ho-Kus, Midland Park and Waldwick on the way. We set up in homes, finished basements, backyards and venues. In these towns, from November on, that mostly means indoors: a front living room, a basement playroom, a dining room with the big table pushed to the wall, or a party room you have booked for the afternoon. Wherever it is, the furniture is in place before the first guest arrives.

Indoor winter birthdays in Ridgewood and Paramus: living rooms, basements and party rooms

Once Halloween is over, birthdays come inside, and the room sets the plan. A kids' table is what turns a living room into a party room: it gives the little guests one place to eat, color and sing, and it keeps the cake and the crafts off the sofa. A few layouts that work well indoors:

• Living room. One long kids' table along the longest wall seats eight to ten children and leaves the middle of the room open for games. Pull the coffee table out and it fits most center-hall colonials.
• Finished basement. Basements are made for this: two tables in an L or a U-shape for fifteen to twenty children, with the dessert cart at the foot of the stairs. Tell us how the stairs turn and we'll plan the carry.
• Dining room. Keep the grown-up table for the adults and set a low table at the end of the room, so the children are in sight but not underfoot.
• Party room. If you have booked a room for the afternoon, we can set up there instead of at home, and pick up when you're done.

Election Day and the NJEA break: party days off school (Nov 3, Nov 5–8)

Most New Jersey districts close on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, and again on Thursday and Friday, November 5 and 6, for the NJEA convention — which turns November 5 through 8 into a four-day weekend. Calendars vary, so check your district calendar before you send invitations, but when your children are off, their friends usually are too.

A Tuesday off school suits a small daytime party: six or eight children, one kids' table, lunch and a craft, and everyone home by mid-afternoon. Thanksgiving kids' tables in Bergen County

Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26. In a house full of cousins, the kids' table is what lets the grown-up table stay a grown-up table. In a long dining room, a low table at the end of the room keeps the children in sight; in a smaller space, a narrow table against the longest wall leaves room to walk. How delivery works in Ridgewood, Paramus and Wyckoff

• Before your guests arrive. We arrive ahead of the party, carry everything in, level the tables and set the chairs, then leave you to the rest of the morning.
• Tell us about the way in. Stairs, an elevator, where we can park, and how wide the front door, the basement stairs and the side gate are. On a winter day, we'll come through the door that keeps the snow out of your living room.
• Picked up the next day. The furniture stays while the party winds down, and we collect it afterward, so the house is yours again.
• Already on the route. If we're already running a route through Bergen County that weekend, adding a stop is usually straightforward — another reason to send your date early.

How many chairs to book

Count the children who will sit — usually ages one to ten — and add two extra seats. Up to about ten children fit at one long kids' table; ten to twenty work well in a row or a U-shape, which suits most basements; above twenty, split the tables by age so the toddlers are not seated next to the ten-year-olds. How booking works

1. Tell us the date, the town and the number of children. A quick quote request is enough to start.
2. Choose the tables and chairs. A table sized to your room, the chairs that suit your colors, a high chair or a dessert cart if you want one.
3. We deliver and set up before your guests arrive — living room, basement, dining room or party room.
4. We pick everything up the next day.

The November days off school and the December weekends book first. If your party is on one of those dates, a date hold is the easiest way to keep it while you finish the guest list — the hold is credited toward the rental.
