Kids' Table & Chair Rentals in Lawrence & the Five Towns
Lawrence, Cedarhurst, Woodmere, Hewlett and Inwood celebrate often and celebrate at home. Here is how Five Towns families give the little ones a table of their own — for a first birthday, an upsherin, a baby naming or this month's Halloween party weekend.
In the Five Towns, a party is rarely a single event on a single afternoon. There is the first birthday, then the upsherin a couple of years later, then the baby naming for the new sibling, then the Sunday when the cousins come over and the dining room fills from wall to wall. Three generations around one table is the norm, and somewhere in the middle of it a dozen small children need a place to sit that is their size.
That is the one thing we do. We rent kid-height tables, children's chairs, high chairs and dessert carts, and we deliver them, set them up and pick them up — across Lawrence, Cedarhurst, Woodmere, Hewlett and Inwood, and the rest of Long Island, including the North Shore (see our Great Neck, Manhasset & Roslyn guide). If your date is already fixed, you can hold your date today and finish the guest list later.
Where we deliver in the Five Towns
Lawrence, Cedarhurst, Woodmere, Hewlett and Inwood, plus the neighboring villages along the same routes. Most of what we set here is at home — a dining room, a finished basement, a backyard under the trees — with the occasional shul hall or restaurant room. Wherever it is, the furniture arrives before the guests do and leaves the next day, so the house is yours again by Monday.
What you can rent
- Kid-height tables — a long table for a row of cousins, or a smaller table that fits beside the adults in a dining room. Tables can be customized on request to match a color or a theme.
- Children's chairs in three collections — Essential, Classic and rattan kids' chairs. Rattan is the one Five Towns families request by name: woven natural chairs that look right beside fine china and silver as easily as at a backyard birthday.
- High chairs for the birthday baby — see where the birthday baby sits for the layout.
- Dessert carts that hold the cake until it is time, and make the backdrop for the photo. More on the dessert cart rental page.
Sizes, collections and how it all works are on our main kids' table and chair rentals page.
Three Five Towns celebrations we set again and again
The first birthday at home
A long low table in the dining room or the den, eight to twelve little chairs, a high chair at the head so the birthday baby is in every photograph. Families keep the adults at the main table and the children at theirs, a step away, so everyone eats at the same time. Start with our first birthday party rentals page for the setup we recommend.
The upsherin or the baby naming
These are family occasions first, with grandparents, aunts and a room full of small cousins. The children's table keeps the little ones settled and in one place during the part of the afternoon that matters most. We set before you start and collect afterward, on the schedule your family keeps.
The Sunday afternoon with the cousins
No theme, no planner — just a big family lunch where the kids finally have a table of their own instead of plates balanced on little laps. It is the simplest setup we do and often the one families book again.
Fall parties in the Five Towns: pumpkin painting, fair weekends and Halloween
October is a full month on Long Island — fall fairs, festival weekends and, this year, a Halloween that falls on a Saturday. That pushes the big party weekend to October 24–25, and those dates go first. For a toddler group, we like a soft, not-scary table: pastel pumpkins, cream and blush, one classic orange pumpkin as an anchor and nothing that would frighten a two-year-old. Our not-scary Halloween kids' table guide has the full plan, and the Halloween party rentals page covers the bigger-kid version.
The fall fair weekends — the Rock Hall country fair in Lawrence among them — put mini pumpkin painting at the top of every child's list, and it is the fall activity families ask us about most this year. It works best at a table the children can actually reach: a kid-height table, chairs their size, and the paint within arm's length instead of a stretch across a grown-up table. We bring the table and the chairs; you or your planner bring the pumpkins and the paint. Our mini pumpkin painting station walks through the setup, and the fall birthday party rentals page has the rest of the season.
A short list for the season — what to let go of, and what to keep:
- Ghost this: grown-up folding chairs for toddlers. Keep: chairs their size, so their feet reach the floor.
- Ghost this: plates balanced on little laps. Keep: a kid-height table where they can actually eat.
- Ghost this: folding and stacking at the end of the night. Keep: next-day pickup — we take it all away.
- Ghost this: waiting until the week before. Keep: a held date while you finish the guest list.
How many chairs and tables to book
Count the children who will sit, not the families invited, and add two seats for the cousin who shows up unannounced. Twelve to sixteen children usually means two kid-height tables and fourteen to eighteen chairs; a toddler group of eight fits at one table with a high chair or two beside the adults. Our guide to how many kids' chairs and tables you need walks through the math, and table and chair heights by age explains which size suits which ages.
How the rental works
- Tell us the date, the town and the number of children through Get a Quote. We confirm availability the same day.
- Hold your date while you finish the guest list — hold your date online and it is credited toward your rental.
- We deliver and set up before your guests arrive: tables placed and leveled, chairs set, the cart in position. You, or your planner, add the decor.
- We pick everything up the next day. Nothing to fold, wipe or stack.
We're not the party planners — we rent the kids' tables, chairs and dessert carts. The balloons, florals, linens and styling in party photos come from the planners and families we deliver for, and we are happy to set up alongside whichever planner, caterer or venue you have booked.
When to book
Sunday afternoons book first in the Five Towns, and the Atelier Rattan chairs go before anything else. For the Halloween weekend of October 24–25, book now; for Hanukkah (the first candle is Friday, December 4), the Hanukkah kids' party rentals page has the cousins'-night setup. Every rental includes delivery, setup and next-day pickup, and we are open 365 days a year.
Frequently asked questions
Do you deliver kids' tables and chairs to the Five Towns?
Yes. We deliver, set up and pick up kid-height tables, children's chairs, high chairs and dessert carts in Lawrence, Cedarhurst, Woodmere, Hewlett and Inwood, and across the rest of Long Island. Delivery, setup and next-day pickup are included with every rental.
Can you set up for an upsherin or a baby naming at home?
Yes. Most Five Towns celebrations we set are at home — in the dining room, the living room or the backyard. We bring a kid-height table sized to the room and the children's chairs, set everything before your guests arrive and collect it afterward, working around the timing your family needs.
Which chairs do Five Towns families ask for most?
The Atelier Rattan collection — woven natural chairs that sit as comfortably beside fine china and silver as they do at a backyard birthday. It books out first, so mention it when you request your date.
Do you have kids' tables for the Halloween party weekend, October 24–25?
Yes, but that weekend books early because Halloween itself falls on a Saturday this year. Send your date and child count now; a not-scary pastel kids' table for toddlers is one of the setups families ask for most this month.
How far ahead should I book a Sunday party?
As early as you can. Sunday afternoons are the first slots to go in the Five Towns. You can hold your date online while you finish the guest list and we confirm availability by text or email.
Can the kids paint mini pumpkins at a rented kids' table?
Yes. A mini pumpkin painting station is one of the easiest fall activities to run at a kid-height table, because every child can reach the paint while sitting in a chair their size. We deliver and set up the table and chairs; the pumpkins, paint and a kraft-paper runner for the tabletop come from you or your planner. Our mini pumpkin painting station guide has the setup.
Do you supply the pumpkins, decorations or party styling?
No. We're not the party planners — we rent the kids' tables, chairs, high chairs and dessert carts, and we deliver, set up and pick them up. The decor, florals and activities come from your family or the planner you have booked, and we're happy to set up alongside them.
