Hanukkah Kids' Party Rentals
Eight nights, a houseful of cousins and one table that finally fits them. Blue, white and silver styling, a latke bar at kid height, and a dessert cart piled with gelt.
Hanukkah 2026 begins on the evening of Friday, December 4 and runs through Saturday, December 12. That gives families two weekends and eight evenings to fit in a kids' Hanukkah party, a cousins' latke night and a grandparents' candle-lighting — often in the same dining room. A proper kids' table turns the children's end of the room from a crowd around the coffee table into a party of its own.
Plan around the calendar
The first candle is lit on a Friday this year, so the first night meets Shabbat — many families light Hanukkah candles first and then Shabbat candles, and save the party for later in the week. Sunday, December 6, the third night, is the natural party day, and weekend dates go first. Weeknight gatherings from December 7 to 10 are easier to book and often more relaxed. If your family observes Shabbat, note it on the quote form so we can plan delivery and pickup times around it.
Blue, white and silver, done well
The classic palette works best when one color leads. Choose a white table and white chairs, then let blue and silver do the accent work: a pale blue runner, silver chargers or paper plates, and white napkins tied with silver ribbon. For a deeper look, a navy runner and a scatter of silver foil gelt down the center photographs beautifully under warm lamp light. Our tables can be made in a custom color on request if you want the table itself in blue.
Keep the menorah lit at adult height, away from the kids' table. The children get a clear view and the flames stay out of reach of little sleeves.
Dreidel and latke-bar ideas
- A dreidel table. A low table with a flat, uncluttered top is the best dreidel surface in the house. Give each child a small cup of gelt or chocolate chips as their pot, and a printed card with the four letters — nun, gimel, hei, shin — and what each one means.
- A latke bar at kid height. Set applesauce, sour cream and toppings in small portioned cups on the kids' table so they serve themselves. Our latke bar toppings cups show how to label dairy and parve clearly.
- Sufganiyot, one each. Jelly doughnuts are messier than they look; serve them last, on the plate, with a napkin.
Our Hanukkah kids' table guide covers safe candle placement and styling in more detail.
A gelt dessert cart
The dessert cart is where a Hanukkah party turns into a picture. Fill clear jars with gold and silver gelt, add blue-and-white cookies, a tray of doughnut holes and a stack of small bags so each child fills their own. Parked near the kids' table, it doubles as the favor station on the way out the door.
