Noon Year's Eve Kids' Party
All of the countdown, none of the midnight. A Noon Year's Eve party rings in the New Year at twelve o'clock, so the guests of honor are home in time for a nap.
Little children and midnight don't mix, but little children and a countdown absolutely do. A Noon Year's Eve party moves the whole ritual — the countdown, the noisemakers, the balloon drop, the toast — to twelve noon on Thursday, December 31. It fills the long week between the holidays beautifully, and everyone is home by two.
We're not the party planners — we rent the kids' tables, chairs, high chairs and dessert carts, and we deliver, set up and pick them up. The balloons, plates and countdown décor come from you or your planner; the ideas below are there to help you plan.
A run of show that works
| Time | What happens |
|---|---|
| 10:30 | Guests arrive. Crowns, party hats and a noisemaker at every seat. |
| 10:45 | Countdown bags open, one every fifteen minutes. |
| 11:15 | Lunch at the kids' table — finger food, served on the plate. |
| 11:55 | Everyone to their seats. Lights down, clock up on the screen. |
| 12:00 | Countdown, balloon drop, noisemakers and a toast with sparkling juice. |
| 12:15 | Cake or a dessert-cart sundae bar, then favors and home by nap time. |
Countdown bags
Countdown bags give the morning a shape and stop the question “is it noon yet?” Label four or five paper bags with times — 10:45, 11:00, 11:15, 11:30, 11:45 — and open one together at each mark. Keep the contents small and useful:
- 10:45 — stickers and a coloring sheet for the table.
- 11:00 — a craft: paper crowns to decorate. Our mini party crowns double as place cards.
- 11:15 — a joke to read at lunch, one per table.
- 11:30 — glow bracelets or star wands.
- 11:45 — noisemakers and confetti poppers for the big moment.
Hang them on a ribbon line or clip them to the back of the chairs so each child can see what's coming.
A black, gold and silver table
This is the one holiday party where our own colors are the theme. Start with white Classic Chairs or clear Ghost Chairs (other chair colors on request) and a black runner, then layer gold and silver: metallic paper plates, gold-rimmed cups, a scatter of star confetti, and a few gold and silver balloons tied to the chair backs. Gilded place cards finish it. Hang a net or a tablecloth of balloons over the table and release it at noon — it's the photograph everyone will ask for. More color ideas are in our kids' party color palettes guide.
If the party is at home, the kids' table can go right in the living room; our indoor winter party guide covers layouts for smaller spaces.
The tables and chairs we bring for a Noon Year's Eve kids' table
Everything is sized for little guests, delivered, set up before the first guest arrives and picked up afterward — included across New Jersey and New York, 365 days a year. For a countdown party these pieces work best:
- Tables: the Modern White Kids Table or the white Serpentine Table for a living-room setup, the Mini Scalloped Oval Table (75 x 30 inches) for one long table everyone can see the clock from, and the Daisy Table, hand-painted and available in custom colors on request.
- Chairs: clear Ghost Chairs and white Classic Chairs suit a black, gold and silver table; the rattan kids' chairs (Bow, Loop, Round and Rainbow), the Bow Metal Chair and the lavender Mini Bistro Chair are there if you'd rather keep it soft.
- For the littlest guests: kids' high chairs, so a baby sibling can sit at the table for the countdown too — see our toddler table and chair rentals.
- A dessert cart for the 12:15 sundae bar or a countdown candy station.
Not sure how many seats to ask for? Our how many kids' chairs and tables guide does the math by guest count, and the kids' table and chair rentals page shows the full collection.
