Philadelphia is our newest route and the one with the widest spread of party types. A Queen Village row-home garden and a Bucks County property are barely the same job — the only thing they have in common is that neither is well served by a standard party rental yard.

Row homes: the honest version

A Philadelphia row-home garden is typically 14 to 16 feet wide, and access is either straight through the house or down a shared back alley. Both are fine for us — child-sized furniture goes through a standard interior doorway without turning it sideways — but tell us which route, because the alley gate is often the narrow point.

For a garden that size, one kids' table for six with a dessert cart against the back wall is the setup that works. Two tables side by side will technically fit and will feel cramped all afternoon.

Main Line and Bucks County properties

Space is plentiful, so the question becomes placement rather than quantity. Two things worth deciding before the day:

• Sun position at party time. A beautiful table in full 2pm August sun empties in ten minutes. Site the kids' seating where there'll be shade at the hour the party actually runs.
• Distance from the adults. Within about thirty feet, angled toward the adult gathering. Further and you've created a second, unsupervised event.

Halls, churches and community rooms

A large share of Philadelphia-area children's parties happen in parish halls, community rooms and rec centers. The rules are consistent enough to plan around: confirm that outside furniture is permitted, get your exact access window in writing, and ask whether a certificate of insurance is required. Many parish halls do require one, and it is the single most common reason a booking gets complicated at the last minute.

Timing

Philadelphia is a scheduled route rather than a daily one, so we ask for a little more notice here than in New Jersey — six to eight weeks for spring and fall weekends, and three to four weeks for other dates. Communion season in April and May is the busiest stretch.

• Delivery, setup and collection. We position and level the tables, arrange the chairs, and come back for everything after the party.
• Kid-height furniture. Chairs and tables scaled so children climb in unaided and their feet reach the floor — not scaled-down adult seating.
• Three collections. Essential, Classic and Atelier Rattan, so the furniture matches your palette rather than fighting it.
• Dessert carts as an add-on — usually the focal point of the party photos.
• Chairs-only if you want it. We work alongside whichever tent, catering or entertainment vendors you've already booked.

Booking checklist

1. Date, start time and your access window.
2. Number of children and their rough ages.
3. Indoor, outdoor, or both — plus your rain plan.
4. Delivery address, with stairs / elevator / gate width noted.
5. Whether the building or venue needs a certificate of insurance.
6. Your color palette or theme.
