How a Kids' Table & Chair Rental Works in NJ: The Process, Start to Finish

Mini Chairs Atelier · Updated October 2026

The process is simple: your planner styles the party, we deliver kid-sized tables and chairs, set them up and pick them up. Here is every step in order — what you send, what we confirm, what arrives and when — so nothing about party day is a surprise.

October is the month people lock things in. The November and December parties are on the calendar, the planner has been called, and the question that comes next is a practical one: how does this actually work? If you've never rented children's furniture before, the whole thing can sound like one more vendor to manage. It isn't. Here is the process, in the order it happens, from the first message to the moment the last little chair goes back on the van.

The photo above is the moment we like best: little tables in first, chairs sized for little guests, and then the planner's styling going on top. Our tables and chairs at a party styled by @memoriespartynj, photographed by @sharyncohenphoto. We're not the party planners — we rent the kids' tables, chairs, high chairs and dessert carts.

Step 1 — You (or your planner) send us three things

The date, the town and the number of children. That's the whole first message. It can come through Get a Quote, by text, or from your planner directly — many of the planners we work with send a screenshot of the guest list and a photo of the room, and that's plenty. Count the children who will sit, not the families invited, and add two; our how-many-chairs guide does the arithmetic. If you know the theme or the palette, tell us now: it decides which collection we suggest.

Step 2 — We confirm availability and send your quote

Usually the same day. We check the date, suggest the pieces — one long kid-height table or two, which chair collection, whether a high chair for the birthday baby and a dessert cart make sense — and send the quote by text or email. The three chair collections are Essential, Classic and Rattan Kids' Chair Rental; the rattan collection books out first for garden parties and first birthdays. Tables can be customized on request to match a theme or a color. Everything on the quote includes delivery, setup and next-day pickup; there is no separate line you discover later. Our pricing page explains the three parts of every quote and what moves it up or down.

Step 3 — Hold the date

This is the step people are most grateful for. Weekends book fast, and the guest list is rarely final when you first reach out. You can hold your date online in a couple of minutes: the hold sets the date aside for you while the quote is finalized, it comes off your rental total, and it's refundable if you cancel at least 30 days before the event. Then you finish the headcount at your own pace and we adjust the chair count up to a few days before the party.

Step 4 — The week before: the details that make delivery easy

A few days out we confirm the address, the delivery window and the access: stairs or elevator, a gate width, where the van can stop, whether the venue needs a certificate of insurance. If a planner is running the day, we coordinate the load-in directly with them so you aren't the go-between. For an outdoor party we ask about the rain plan — which room the kids' table moves to if the forecast turns — because kid-height tables move indoors in two trips and we'd rather plan it than improvise it. Our delivery access checklist lists everything we'll ask.

Step 5 — Party day: little tables in first

We arrive before the styling starts, because the furniture is the foundation of the layout. The tables go in first and get positioned and leveled — on a deck, a lawn, a paver patio or a hall floor — then the chairs are placed, mixed by height if the guest list spans ages, then the high chair and the dessert cart. A typical setup takes about thirty minutes. Then we step back and the planner works her magic: linens, balloons, florals, place settings. That order matters. Styling a table that is still being leveled is how centerpieces get knocked over; styling a table that is already square and steady is how the photos end up looking like the one above.

Step 6 — We pick everything up

The next day, or after the weekend, or after yom tov if the set is staying for a holiday — whatever we agreed when you booked. You don't fold, wipe or stack anything; the chairs go back on the van and the room is yours again. If the party runs late or the venue needs same-night collection, say so when you book and we'll plan the pickup window around it.

We're not the party planners

We supply the kids' tables, chairs, high chairs and dessert carts, and we deliver, set them up and collect them. The balloons, backdrop, linens, desserts and florals are the planner's work, or yours. We set up alongside any planner, tent or catering vendor you've already booked.

What the process looks like for a planner

Planners like us because we're a chairs-only partner: one text with the date and child count, one quote, a load-in time, and we're gone before the balloons go up. We'll hold a date while you quote your client, and we can send a few photos of each collection for your mood board. More on how that relationship works in why a chairs-only partner is easier than a full-service one.

Timing: when each step should happen

Planning a December party? Read what to book now and what can wait. Every detail of what we rent is on the kids' table and chair rentals page, and first birthdays have their own guide at first birthday party rentals. We deliver across New Jersey and New York — home base is Monmouth County, NJ — and we're open 365 days a year.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need to send to get a quote for kids' tables and chairs?

Three things: the date, the town and the number of children who will sit at the table. Add the theme or color palette if you know it. We confirm availability and send your quote by text or email, usually the same day.

Can I book before my guest list is final?

Yes. Hold your date online and the date is set aside while you finish the headcount. The hold is credited toward your rental total and is refundable if you cancel at least 30 days before the event. We adjust the chair count up to a few days before the party.

Is delivery and setup included?

Yes. Every rental includes delivery, full setup and next-day pickup. We position and level the tables, place the chairs, high chair and dessert cart, and collect everything afterward. Nothing for you to fold, wipe or stack.

Do you set up before or after the party planner decorates?

Before. The tables go in first and are leveled, then the chairs and the cart, then your planner styles on top. We coordinate the load-in time directly with your planner or venue so you are not the go-between.

Do you work with the planner or venue I already booked?

Yes. We are a chairs-only specialist and work alongside any planner, tent, catering or venue vendor you have already booked, including certificates of insurance and load-in windows for clubs and halls.
