Our most requested collection, and the one that does the most work in your photographs.
Look at any photo from a children's party and notice what occupies the bottom third of the frame: a table and six chairs. If that third is gray resin, no amount of styling above it rescues the picture. If it's woven cane, the photo looks considered before you've added anything at all.
That's the whole argument for the Atelier Rattan collection, and it's why it's the first thing to go on peak weekends.
Why rattan photographs better
- It breaks up light. Woven cane creates hundreds of small shadows across its surface. Flat plastic creates none. This is the actual reason a rattan chair looks expensive in a photo taken on a phone.
- It's a warm neutral. Natural fiber sits in the same family as linen, wood and kraft paper, so every other element you add coordinates automatically.
- It reads as furniture, not equipment. A banquet chair always looks rented. A little cane chair looks like it lives in the house.

Is rattan practical for small children?
Yes, and more so than most alternatives. The chairs are built at children's height with a low center of gravity, so a two-year-old climbs in and out unassisted and their feet reach the floor — which is what stops them leaning on the table for leverage and tipping drinks. For ages one and two we'd add two suggestions: keep centerpieces low, and keep glass off the children's table entirely.
Rattan is our most requested collection and the first to sell out. For a Saturday in May, June, September or October, six to eight weeks is the sensible window rather than the cautious one. Midweek and winter dates are usually available with two to three weeks' notice.

Can I rent rattan kids' chairs for a party?
Yes. Our Atelier Rattan collection is available for rental across New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania with delivery, setup and collection included. It is our most requested collection, so peak spring and fall Saturdays should be booked six to eight weeks ahead.
Are rattan chairs safe for toddlers?
Yes. They are built at children's height with a low center of gravity, so a two-year-old can climb in and out unassisted and their feet reach the floor. For ages one and two, keep centerpieces low and avoid glass on the children's table.
What colors go with rattan party furniture?
Rattan is a warm neutral, so it pairs naturally with terracotta and sage, cream and olive, peach and apricot, or ochre with charcoal. Include one genuinely deep tone as an anchor — an all-cream scheme photographs washed out.
Do you rent rattan chairs without tables?
Yes. We're a chairs-only specialist, so you can book chairs alone if your venue or caterer is already providing tables, and we'll work alongside your other vendors.
