DIY Floral Table-Number or Centerpiece Sign

Mini Chairs Atelier · August 19, 2026
Floral garden children’s party table inspiring a lightweight centerpiece sign
Keep children’s tabletop décor low, light and clear of eating space.

This small floral sign can display a table number, the birthday child’s name or a short phrase. The key for a children’s table is keeping it lightweight, stable and low enough that little guests can see one another.

What you’ll need

1. Design the sign face

Use a large readable number or short name with plenty of blank space. Mount the printed piece onto cardstock in a coordinating color and trim the edges evenly.

2. Prepare a stable base

Choose a holder that stands securely without scratching the table. Add felt underneath if needed. Avoid glass, sharp wire and top-heavy structures.

3. Add a small floral cluster

Attach two or three lightweight flowers to one corner, keeping the number or name visible. Repeat the same placement if you are creating multiple signs.

4. Check the height and sightline

Place the sign on a table and sit at child height. It should not block faces or take space needed for plates and cups. A low arrangement usually photographs better than a tall centerpiece.

5. Pack it separately

Transport the sign in a shallow box and place it after linens and place settings are complete. Never glue, tape or permanently attach it to rental furniture.

Variation: replace the table number with “Sweets,” “Favors” or “Crafts” to label a coordinated party station.

Bring your floral palette together with boutique children’s furniture.
