Choose the future birthday first
Decide whether the capsule will be opened on the child’s 10th, 16th or 18th birthday. Put that date directly on the sign so guests immediately understand the idea.
Give guests prompts that make writing easy
Try prompts such as “What do you hope they discover someday?”, “What made you smile about them this year?” or “What would you tell their future self?” Keep the prompts short and leave plenty of room for handwritten notes.
Style the station without overdoing it

Add one final keepsake after the party
Before sealing the box, tuck in an invitation, a favorite photograph or a small paper detail from the celebration. Then store it somewhere safe until the chosen birthday.
